Yes! Peking City Express is as good as it gets!
After more than 2 years of repeated cravings of their food, it's time PCE gets its 5 stars from me.
PCE is kinda of an Asian secret around here. We all know that it has the *other* menu. You know, the menu that only brave, curious souls will ask for. My favorites from that menu include the Thin Noodles w Intestines, Chow Mi Fun, Sacha anything...etc. Everything I've ordered here taste consistently good. Even hubby has found his favorite: S&S Chicken. They still put pineapple and peppers in their version, a rarity these days.
Service has always been friendly and efficient, too! -

This place is great, simple as that! I came here for a late lunch, after a doctors appointment nearby about a month ago. It was a little bit after the lunch special time when I walked in, but the man that waited on me offered to extend it. How gracious. As I was perusing the menu, he asked what I was looking for, and I told him that I really wanted some Mongolian beef. It wasn't offered on their lunch menu, but he offered to give it to me as a lunch special. Yeah!
Mongolian beef is my favorite Chinese dish and it is hard to find places that make it good and not bland. I had this place bookmarked, especially for their Mongolian beef, as I had read it was done properly here. It was indeed. It was full of flavor, the appropriate amount of onions, and the beef was tender. The hot and sour soup, fried rice, and egg roll were all just as good. The lunch special was great and a real bargain. I enjoyed my meal in its entirety.
It's just a small take-out place with a few tables for dining in. It's nothing fancy, but it was clean and well-kept. It's located right by Village 8 Cinemas in DuPont Circle. They made a very good first impression on me! I won't hesitate to return and I highly recommend. For what I got and the service I received, they easily earn five stars from me in their category and price point. -

I only go here because I can walk from my office. The food has gotten slightly better in the past few months but it is still mediocre at best.

Love spicy food that makes your mouth tingle? Make sure to order the boiled fish and tofu dish with extra spices. This stuff is no joke and is absolutely delicious ! In my opinion Louisville really lacks authentic good quality Szechuan Chinese food. Jasmin is as close as u will get but it still caters to the American pallet. This place is pretty much the same but it kicks other restaurants butt when it comes to their authentic menu :)
Tip: if you like spicy but can't handle too much, just order it the way it comes.
Ask them to cut back on the oil. -

Ok. This is a small restaurant but not really fast food restaurant. They offer some hidden menu. When I was there today, I actually share with other tables. LOL. The Tofu with pork is absolutely prefect ! It's just taste sooo gooood with rice . And the 2nd is Ma Jiao Fish . It's kind of spicy and num your tongue feeling. (The fish need be order advance) it's supper delicious! Also don't forgot they have the very best bubble tea. My hubby like Mango. I like original. Picture next time.
